In a study at Linkoping University, it has been found that low-carbohydrate diet is as effective in reducing weight as low-fat diet. In fact, a low-carbohydrate diet has a benefit of reducing inflammation (response of the body to various injuries) as well.

Leading a life of moderation and eating a balanced diet can help you to stay away from diabetes and its complications. Eating whole grains, good quality proteins, fruits and vegetables is highly recommended. When you eat a balanced diet, you neither deprive the body of important nutrients nor do you put stress on it. It keeps you fit and healthy.
